Owing to an unfortunate deterioration in my eyesight, I regret to say that I have had to end my career as a turner of wood.
It has taken me a few years to come to this decision but, after much soul searching, I realise the futility of continuing and have decided that, rather than fight the inevitable, I will use this opportunity to begin a new career and pursue my love of music. After taking a step back to readjust to my new circumstances, I will be returning to the visual arts field as a sculptor. If you follow the link below, it will take you to the other side of my life.

Steve Howlett is no longer a Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen,
having resigned in 2007 over isssues of quality.
